First Capital Christian Church

Stan and Christy Kirtlan began their ministry with First Capital Christian Church in June 2026, bringing with them a deep love for God’s people and a lifelong commitment to making disciples. Stan earned his bachelor’s degree from Cincinnati Bible College and later completed a master’s degree in Pastoral Leadership in 2012. Born and raised on a farm in northern Indiana, he has spent nearly all of his ministry years serving churches throughout Ohio. Together, Stan and Christy cherish their growing family of four daughters and ten grandchildren, and they are grateful to call First Capital their new home.

During the week, Stan serves as a chaplain with Heartland Hospice, walking alongside individuals and families throughout Ross County as they seek peace, comfort, and hope in the Lord. His pastoral heart has been shaped by decades of ministry—beginning at age fifteen when he preached his first sermon. He later moved to Central Ohio to plant a new church in Delaware County, followed by twenty‑six years of faithful service in Grove City.

Stan brings a shepherd’s presence to First Capital, teaching God’s Word with clarity, compassion, and a steady focus on helping people grow in Christ. He loves good coffee and meaningful conversation, and he and Christy enjoy spending time outdoors, especially when fishing or experimenting with Stan’s hobby of smoking fish, pork, chicken, and beef.

Their prayer is simple: that everyone who walks through the doors of First Capital Christian Church will find a place to belong, a community to grow with, and a Savior who transforms lives with grace and truth.
